| Two years after Afixion broke up, Roman Lopez had been playing with other musicians but nothing serious happened. Until he asked Rei Hernandez (One of the biggest fan from Afixion) to come and jam with him, soon after two sessions they had great musical connection, they talked about the possibility of starting a new musical project. Roman had previously jammed with Paul de la Cruz and had been waiting for him to come back from Peru (his native Land) so he could meet Rei Hernandez and get together for a jam session and see where their musical creativity would take them. Roman, Rei and Paul became a band and were scouting for a fresh voice to compliment their music. Thus Son Locuaz was created in late April 2008 with the musical collaboration of Roman Lopez on the drums, Paul de la Cruz on Lead guitars and Rei Hernandez handling the low frequencies. So what is Son Locuaz? In Spanish Son means Rhythm and rhythm is something every musician must have, it's something that has to be in your soul. Locuaz for the band means friendship and we call each other Locuaz as a way of appreciation to one another we are a family. Locuaz also is a person who can talk crazy non-sense that makes sense and that is the very thing is what we do with our music. In a nutshell Son Locuaz means. They are Self Spoken. It is the epitome of the love of music and anything and everything musical. Son Locuaz is love. Son Locuaz is family and friends. Son Locuaz is the ultimate expression of our creative being.
